TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google has partnered with sunglasses maker Luxottica to market its Google Glass, according to an official statement by Luxottica CEO Andrea Guerra on Monday.
"We believe that a strategic partnership with a leading player like Google is the ideal platform for developing a new way forward in our industry and answering the evolving needs of consumers on a global scale," Guerra told Reuters.
Guerra said his company will design, develop and distribute a new kind of eyewear where small-sized Google Glass' lens will be installed on Ray-Ban and Oakley frames.
He further said that the two companies would work together to create innovative wearable devices but declined to provide more details.
The collaboration is expected to attract more people to use Google Glass and still be fashionable with Luxottica-styled glasses.
