Jakarta Cooperates with Finance Ministry to Boost Tax

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Deputy Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), Finance Minister Chatib Basri, and Taxation and Excise Directorate General Fuad Rahmany signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement about coordination in effort to optimize central tax, local tax and retribution, as reported by Antara news.

"There have been good cooperation between Taxation Directorate General and Jakarta Provincial Government regarding taxation. Today, the cooperation entered fundamental stage in a form of MoU," said Rahmany at City Hall, Monday.

Rahmany stated that today's signed cooperation and agreement is more extensive and concrete. It is hoped to create a breakthrough for tax payer, individual or company, to pay tax on time. "The cooperation covers tax payer compliance development and monitoring as well as increasing knowledge and technical skills for both parties," he added.
