TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An American property tycoon, Michael Dezer, will auction off his rare automobile collection, which was used in a series of James Bond movies. Donald Trump's business partner said he wanted to sell some cars from his 57 vehicle collection. The collection varies from cars, tanks, boats, planes, even amphibious vehicles, totaling to 20 million poundsterling.
The ones he wishes to sell are: the tank from the movie Golden Eye, the Q-Boat from the World is Not Enough, the amphibious Lotus which dove from the movie The Spy Who Loved Me, 6 Aston Martins – two of which are modified for the ice from the movie Die Another Day.
He just recently purchased these vehicles three years ago from the Bond Museum in Kenswick, England. After purchasing the collection, he continued to hunt down more and more Bond vehicles to add to his collection. Even the car from the latest Bond Movie, Skyfall, had been purchased by Dezer. Dezer, a wealthy man in the property business decided to let go of his collections which has been on display in the Miami Auto Museum. He decided that the collection belonged to the public. Dezer asked his representative in England, Stuart Donovan, to sell it.
When he first bought the collection, Dezer sent them to Miami by ship. Now he must prepare another ship and send it back to England. "Maybe Miami is the wrong place for such a collection to be displayed that we have to send it back to England," said Donovan.
