TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency Udar Pristono, said Jakarta lacks gas-filling stations (SPBG).
According to him, the city currently has only seven SPBGs to meet the demands of TransJakarta buses.
"The number of SPBGs we have is not adequate," said Udar at the City Hall, yesterday, adding that based on the number of the available TransJakarta corridors, Jakarta should ideally have 22 SPBG.
"Each corridor should have two SPBGs." Moreover, the operations of several SPBG are sometimes disrupted, he said.
"There is even one SPBG that sometimes has operational problems. So only six of them work," he said.
In the meantime, Head of TransJakarta Management Unit (UP) Division, Pargaulan Butarbutar, acknowledged the lack of SBPG. "True, we lack SPBGs, but we make the most of what is available," he said.
Pargaulan said 579 TransJakarta buses refill gas in those SPBGs, excluding 90 integrated bus network [APTB] and 18 Busway- Integrated City Buses (BKTB).
"The matter is within the authority of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry," he said.
