TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Pelindo) workers who resigned was on the rise. Head of Pelindo Workers Union, Kinorto, stated that as of Friday, as many as 62 workers had filed resignation letters.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, 21 workers resigned. "It is estimated that there will be more workers who will resign because I have not received the copy of resignation letters of 10 other workers," Kintoro told Tempo.
Kinorto added that those workers resigned as a form of solidarity to the Personnel and General Affairs Director, Cipto Pramono.
Previously, Pelindo Indonesia II President Director, R.J. Lino, asked Cipto to resign after he delivered a remarks with the Workers Union when Pelindo Indonesia II celebrated its anniversary.
The sour relation between Lino and the Workers Union has been going on for a while. The Union had even sent letters to the State-owned Enterprises Minister and President Yudhoyono to re-consider Lino's position.
Lino said that he could no longer work with Cipto. "I've lost my trust in him," he told Tempo on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Cipto denied that his resignation had something to do with the conflict between the Union and Lino. "I just want to take a rest," he said.
