TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A 12-year-old student armed with a semi-automatic pistol attacked two classmates and killed a math teacher, before killing himself at his Nevada middle school on Monday. This remarks a string of shooting rampages in the United States for the last couple of years.
"A kid started getting mad and he pulled out a gun and shoots my friend, one of my friends at least," a seventh-grade student identified as Andrew Thompson told local television station KOLO, as cited by Reuters. "And then he walked up to a teacher and says back up. The teacher started backing up and he pulled the trigger."
Andrew and his friends then helped move their teacher to a safe place, right until the vice principal showed up and told them to go for cover.
Reports said that the teacher tried to persuade the young gunman to drop his weapon, before he was eventually killed, while the remaining two wounded students were rushed to a Reno Hospital. At the end, the shooter fatally shot himself in front of children who were gathering for class at the beginning of the school day. Until recently, the police is still on the case and is far from revealing the motives.
