TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Dr. Elizabeth Thomas, Health Instructor at University of Colorado, said that having a routine breakfast can lower the risks of diabetes for obese women. In addition, she claimed that breakfats can prevent obese women from having an insulin resistance, a condition where they require more insulin from their blood sugar, which can lead to diabetes.
"Healthy breakfast is good," said Thomas. "Not only it helps you to control body weight, it also helps to prevent diabetes."
American Diabetes Association revealed that around 18 million of Americans suffers from diabetic type 2, mostly caused by obesity.
