TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A new research discovered that carbonated drinks can lead to diabetes, obesity stroke, as well as kidney stone. Clinical Journal of American Society of Neurology exposed that a person that consumed carbonated drinks on a daily basis has higher risk of developing kidney stone.
Although liquid consumption is always considered as a way of reducing the risk of kidney stone, Dr Pietro Manuel Ferraro, MD, said that not all liquid can prevent kidney stone.
The research involved 194,095 respondents listed in Nurses Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-Up, where the respondents provide information about their lifestyle and diet in the past eight years.
The result stated that a person that consumes carbonated drink on a daily basis has a 23 percent higher risk of kidney stone compared to people who consumed carbonated drinks on a weekly basis.
