TEMPO.CO, Oklahoma - Despite the damages it causes, the tornado that hits Oklahoma by surprise is considered to be a beginning of something worse that is yet to come. The Storm Prediction Center stated that the tornado is only a 'warm up'. "There will be more tornadoes," said Bill Bunting, operational head of the Storm Prediction Center.
"These storms are going to continue producing additional tornadoes. They'll also produce very large hails, perhaps larger than the size of a baseball," he said. He stated that he is concerned that if two tornadoes collide, the damage will be even worse.
Around 300 houses were either damaged or destroyed in Oklahoma. John Welsh, a helicopter pilot for KFOR, Oklahoma's news channel, reported that the damage is devastating. "It's like you put the houses in one giant blender," he said.
The National Weather Service reported that 28 tornadoes have occurred in Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, and Iowa. However, Oklahoma and Kansas suffer the heaviest damages.
