TEMPO.CO, Manchester – Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, admitted his frustration for constantly being put on the bench by Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United manager.
“It is frustrating. All the players in the world wants to be in the starting lineup every week. Of course every player wants that,” Hernandez said. “I am happy to be in the club but i would love to play more games.”
Hernandez stated that out of 33 matches in the season, he only played as a starter 7 times. Overall, Chicharito – his nickname —has performed in 17 matches, with a total of 771 minutes on the field.
Despite being put on the bench, Hernandez managed to perform well in every chance he gets. He has scored a total of 16 goals for the club.
Hernandez misfortune started when Robin van Persie joined the team at the beginning of the season. He constantly became a substitute to Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, and Danny Welback.
Rumors stated that Hernandez is planning to leave Old Trafford. However, Ferguson insisted that Chicharito remains the important part of MU’s future.
“If the coach wants me to be on the bench, I just have to do my best,” Hernandez stated.
