TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Indonesian government will register and pay social security contributions for internship participants who are fresh graduates. This university internship program will commence on October 15, 2025, and will last for six months.

The Secretary General of the Manpower Ministry, Cris Kuntadi, stated that the internship participants will also receive facilities such as monthly pocket money equivalent to the minimum wage, disbursed through state banks, and will also have mentors from the company. "The company's obligation is to provide monthly internship progress reports to the Ministry of Manpower," said Cris in an official statement quoted on Monday, October 6, 2025.

The provision of social security facilities has been regulated in the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 8 of 2025 concerning Guidelines for Government Assistance for University Graduate Internship Programs. This regulation was established on September 29, 2025, and was signed by the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli.

Article 8 of the regulation states that internship participants will be registered in the social security program by the Directorate of Vocational Training and Internship Providers. The social security program in question includes work accident insurance (JKK) and death insurance (JKM) for non-wage recipients. "The contributions for the social security program will be charged through the Budget Implementation List of the Directorate of Vocational Training and Internship Providers," as stated in the regulation, quoted on Monday, October 6, 2025.

As of Monday, October 6, 2025, at 08:53, a total of 561 companies were already registered as internship providers on the website internshiphub.kemnaker.go.id. Some of the companies that are conducting internship programs include Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), Pertamina Patra Niaga, Indonesian Railways (KAI), Toyota Indonesia, and Garuda Food.

According to the Internship Hub website, company registration and internship program proposals are open until October 7, 2025.
