TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Indonesia strongly condemns the massacre of Palestinians carried out by Israel at a school in Gaza.
"Indonesia strongly condemns the massacre of more than 100 Palestinians at Al-Taba'een School in Gaza by Israel on August 10, 2024," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on platform X monitored in Jakarta, Saturday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Indonesia urged the UN Security Council to immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
In addition, Indonesia also called on the international community to unite to stop the crimes against humanity and genocide committed by Israel.
"Israel must be held accountable for all these crimes. All forms of impunity must be stopped," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in the statement.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Presidency said that the United States was partly responsible for the Israeli attack on a school in Gaza that killed more than 100 people.
"We hold the US government responsible for this massacre because of their financial, military and political support to Israel," the Palestinian Presidency said in a statement on the X platform on Saturday.
Previously, the US government disbursed 3.5 billion US dollars to Israel to buy American weapons.
"The aid was disbursed at the same time as this severe attack, which proves US complicity in the ongoing genocide," the statement said.
"The US must immediately end its unconditional support for Israel, which has led to the deaths of thousands of innocent people, including children, women and the elderly," the statement said.
On Saturday, more than 100 Palestinians were killed in the latest Israeli attack on a school full of refugees in Gaza, Palestine.
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli airstrike hit a school in the Daraj neighborhood, east of Gaza City, around dawn prayer time.
The attack also injured hundreds of other Palestinians.
Israel admitted to carrying out the attack on the grounds that the school was the "military headquarters" of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas.
