8 Recommendations of Waterfalls Near Jakarta for Weekend Getaway

There is an abundance of waterfalls in Indonesia, and many are located quite close to the bustling city noises of Jakarta. Visiting these waterfalls is a great way to temporarily escape the busy city as most are located less than two hours drive from Jakarta. 

Waterfalls Near Jakarta

1. Leuwi Hejo Sentul Waterfall

Only about 46 kilometers from Jakarta, Leuwi Hejo is located in Babakan Madang, Bogor. This area offers a stunning panorama of a green waterfall. The path to the waterfall is easy and suitable for those who want to bring children. Entry tickets start from Rp15,000 per person.

2. Leuwi Barong Waterfall

Still in the same area as Leuwi Hejo, you can visit Leuwi Barong Waterfall by trekking up past Benjol Waterfall. The entrance ticket price is Rp15,000. This waterfall has a strong stream and a whirlpool, so it is not recommended for swimming.

3. Cibaliung Waterfall

Located on Jl. Gunungwangun, Sukamakmur, Jonggol, Bogor, Cibaliung Waterfall is an option for those who want a quiet atmosphere. This waterfall trekking route is quite extreme with an uphill path, but the view is worth the struggle with its bluish water. Ticket prices start from Rp25,000.

4. Hordeng Waterfall

To get to the Hordeng Waterfall, visitors must leisurely trekking for around 20-40 minutes. The ticket price is also affordable, namely Rp20,000. The best time to come here is in the morning because of the quiet and crystal-clear water.

5. Ciburial Waterfall

Ciburial Waterfall is located in the Hordeng Waterfall area, Cibadak Village, Bogor. Ticket prices start from Rp25,000 per person. This waterfall is suitable for trekking enthusiasts since the path leading to the waterfall is steep and dense.

6. Luhur Waterfall

Can be reached in about 2 hours from Jakarta, Luhur Waterfall is an interesting tourist attraction to visit on the weekend. Apart from the panoramic view of the towering waterfall, this waterfall has water park rides so it is suitable for those of you who want to bring children. The ticket price is Rp45,000.

7. Tepus Valley

Tepus Valley is a waterfall in the Mount Bunder area. This place is famous because it has a unique stair-like waterfall with clear bluish water. You can also camp out in this area, with a ticket price of Rp10,000.

8. Ngumpet Waterfall

Located in the Mount Halimun Salak National Park area, Ngumpet Waterfall is a suitable destination for adventure lovers. Just by spending Rp10,000, visitors can soak in the waterfall with bluish water surrounded by dense trees.
