TEMPO.CO, JakartaHead of the International Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Krishna Murti, said that the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) had issued a red notice for two Indonesian citizens suspected of human trafficking.

The two suspects, currently in Germany, are Amisulistiani or Ami Ensch, Boss of PT CVGEN; and Enik Rutita or Enik Waldkonig, boss of PT Sinar Harapan Bangsa (PT SHB). "(The red notice) are released and the German Authorities are notified,” Krishna said in a brief text on Thursday, June 6, 2024.

Ami and Enik are suspects of profiting off sending Indonesian students to Germany in an internship program called ferienjob. Authorities have repeatedly summoned Ami and Enik for probing to no avail. Thus, the police have added both of their names to the wanted list.

The National Police highlighted the role of several officials at dozens of universities in this human trafficking case, including two lecturers at Jakarta State University, MZ and AJ, who have been named suspects. They were allegedly active in promoting the ferienjob program and sending their students to Germany for the internship.

Investigation results showed that the suspects shared roles in sending the students to Germany, from authorizing the long-distance class permit to lending students security deposits. However, during the three months of the internship in Germany, students were not provided with online classes. during the three months students worked in Germany there were no online lectures.

The suspects were allegedly active in inviting various universities to take part in the Ferienjob internship program but failed to give clear information to students on what entails of the ferienjob program.
