TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia and Uruguay on Monday, June 3, 2024, explored cooperation for strengthening halal product guarantees (JPH) to improve product quality in the international market and as a commitment to providing halal products.

The cooperation was explored during a working visit by Uruguayan government representatives to the office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Central Jakarta on Monday.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police will extradite Thailand’s most wanted fugitive Chaowalit Thongduang, known by the moniker “Pang Na Node”, this afternoon, June 4, 2024, from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang. 

Head of the National Police's International Relations Division, Inspector General Krishna Murti, said Chaowalit would depart at 03:00 p.m. local time. "This afternoon, Thailand's most wanted fugitive will be deported from Soekarno-Hatta Airport," said Krishna.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Said Iqbal, president of the Indonesian Confederation of Trade Unions (KSPI), said thousands of workers would demonstrate in front of the palace on Thursday, June 6. They plan to protest the government's mandatory premiums for the public housing savings or Tapera program.

According to Said Iqbal, thousands of workers from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi will join the rally. They come from various trade union organizations including the KSPI, the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI), the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KPBI), as well as the Indonesian Peasants' Union (SPI) and the women's organization PERCAYA.
