TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecasted that Jakarta's weather will likely be partly cloudy today, June 3. The metropolitan area’s air temperatures are expected to range from 23-32 degrees Celsius.
According to the agency’s weather forecast, the entire capital area will experience partial overcast conditions from morning to afternoon. During this zero-rain period, air humidity is anticipated to be within the range of 65-95 percent.
In the evening, the weather will vary, with Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands remaining partly cloudy, while West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta will be fully overcast.
In the early hours of Monday, only the Thousand Islands will remain sunny, while the rest will be cloudy.
The weather forecast for Jakarta’s neighborhood regions is more diverse. Similar to the capital city, Bekasi, Cikarang, and Depok will be partly cloudy this morning. However, light rain will wet these areas in the evening.
In Bogor City, rain is expected from noon to evening, with air temperature lower than Jakarta, around 20-31 degrees Celsius. Cloudy skies are also expected to cover Tangerang City and Merak Port.
Rain to continue as the dry season begins
The BMKG’s Deputy for Meteorology predicted heavy to extreme rainfall in various Indonesian regions until June 6. In the weather outlook report for May 31 to June 6, several areas will experience rain albeit the archipelago has entered the dry season.
