Prabowo-Gibran Transition Team Meets with Sri Mulyani

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Prabowo-Gibran transition team met with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani at the Finance Ministry office today, May 31. Gerindra Party Chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Secretary General Ahmad Muzani visited as the team's chairman and deputy chairman, along with Thomas M. Djiwandono.

“This is the Prabowo-Gibran government synchronization task force requested by the Indonesian President-elect to synchronize with ministries to prepare the Prabowo-Gibran government after the inauguration on October 20,” Muzani said at the Finance Ministry’s Office in Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta on Friday, May 31.

He said that Prabowo hoped for a smooth and quick synchronization process between the current government and the new one so that he could immediately execute his campaign promises. 

Muzani also thanked the state treasurer and her staff for providing the transition team with access to information, which is crucial for formulating new government policies in the Prabowo-Gibran administration in the future.

“We will continue to coordinate and synchronize with the Ministry of Finance and several related ministers to prepare for the implementation of these programs in the meantime until the inauguration,” he added.

The Finance Ministry is the first institution visited by the transition team. Sri Mulyani stressed that the budget cycle is indeed a top priority. “President Jokowi continues to ask the Ministry of Finance and me as the minister [regarding the government transition] so we will continue to intensify coordination and communication,” she said.
