TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Suhartoyo confirmed that the panel of judges intends to summon several of President Jokowi's ministers to the hearing on the 2024 presidential election dispute scheduled for Friday, April 5, following this morning's meeting of the constitutional court judges.
The summoned ministers include Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, and Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini.
“The MK needs to first hear from Coordinating Minister Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Sri Muyani, Social Affairs Minister Tri Rismaharini, and the Ethics Council of the Election Organization (DKPP),” Suhartoyo said at the conclusion of today’s hearing at the MK Building in Central Jakarta on Monday afternoon, April 1, 2024.
However, Suhartoyo assured that the summons does not signify that the court would grant the request of the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar Camp and the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. camp as the petitioners. “This is solely for the benefit of the judges.”
He expected Sri Mulyani, Risma, Airlangga, Muhadjir, and the DKPP to testify this week. The third hearing, which was held today, had the agenda to hear the testimonies of witnesses and experts from the Anies-Muhaimin camp as Petitioner I. Meanwhile, the third hearing of the election dispute case lodged by the Ganjar-Mahfud camp as Petitioner II will be held on Tuesday, April 2.
