Ganjar-Mahfud Spend Nearly Half of Trillion on Campaign, More than Prabowo-Gibran and Anies-Cak Imin

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate pair number 3, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md. or Ganjar-Mahfud, reportedly expended and received the most substantial campaign funds, as per their Campaign Fund Receipt and Expenditure Report (LPPDK) released by the General Elections Commission (KPU).
Election participants are obliged to submit the LPPDK to the Public Accounting Office (KAP) appointed by the KPU through the Campaign and Campaign Fund Information System (Sikadeka) no later than 15 days after the polling day or by February 29, 2024.
“As of February 29, 2024, at 23:59 WIB, the three candidate pairs have submitted the LPPDK,” KPU Commissioner Idham Kholik said on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
The Ganjar-Mahfud pair reported receiving Rp506,894,823,260 and spending Rp506,892,847,566 for the campaign. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka reported a total campaign fund of Rp208,206,048,243 with a total expenditure of Rp207,576,558,270.
Candidate pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar reported the lowest campaign funds as they received Rp49,341,955,140 with a total expenditure of Rp49,340,397,060.
The KPU has appointed three different KAPs to audit the LPPDK of the three candidate pairs, namely KAP Heliantono and partners for Anies-Muhaimin, KAP Yanuar & Riza for Prabowo-Gibran, and KAP Drs. Chaeroni & Partners for Ganjar-Mahfud.
“The KAPs appointed by the KPU will audit the reports no later than 30 days after receiving the report,” Idham added.
The campaign funds in the LPPDK submitted by each candidate increased from their Initial Campaign Fund Reports (LADK). Anies-Muhaimin had the smallest initial campaign fund compared to the two rivals at Rp1 billion.
In contrast, Prabowo-Gibran had the largest initial campaign funds at Rp31,438,800,000, followed by Ganjar-Mahfud at Rp23,375,920,999.
