Ed Sheeran Concert in Jakarta Tomorrow, Police Urge Audience to Use Public Transport

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - British singer Ed Sheeran will hold his concert at Jakarta International Stadium, North Jakarta tomorrow, Saturday, March 2, 2024.
The traffic director of Metro Jaya regional police Chief Commissioner Latif Usman said that the police have readied 300 personnel to manage the traffic in JIS, or the roads heading to JIS such as Cikunir and Cawang in East Jakarta and Sudirman in Central Jakarta. For the audience planning to use private vehicles, there are several parking spots prepared.
"We have prepared parking spots in the stadium for motorbikes, and in Kemayoran and Ancol for cars. The committee has coordinated so that the bridge from Ancol heading to the JIS Bridge can be operational," said Latif Usman to the media crew on Friday.
Anticipating Ed Sheeran’s audience of an estimated 50,000 people, Latif also said that some form of shuttle buses have been prepared to take the audience from Kemayoran to JIS. However, the audience is still encouraged to use public transport in hopes of traffic jam reduction.
“I advise the audience that to anticipate queues, it is better to use public transportation," explained Latif.
