TEMPO.CO, Solo - Vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka expressed his appreciation to presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo for calling for the House of Representatives (DPR) inquiry into the election fraud.
“Thank you Pak Ganjar for your suggestions,” Gibran told reporters at Solo City Hall in Central Java on Feb. 21, when asked to comment on Ganjar’s accusation of electoral fraud.
The Solo Mayor claimed that his side would first examine the matter. “We’ll be looking into it. Yes, let it be,” he said nonchalantly.
He also said that the proposal regarding the House’s probe into the election, criticism, evaluations, complaints, or even demonstrations will be considered as subjects of evaluation.
As widely reported, Ganjar Pranowo encouraged his political party to propose an inquiry into the alleged fraud during the 2024 presidential election. He asked the House Commission II to push members to hold a hearing or summon election organizers to be held accountable.
In a meeting with his campaign team on Feb. 15, Ganjar stressed the need to address election fraud. If the House is not willing to investigate, the former governor of Central Java urged the House to summon the government to explain the election.
