Erick Thohir Targets 99% SOEs Projects to Finish This Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir stated that out of the planned 88 government projects, his ministry has finalized 79 strategic projects so far.
"If 7 out of the remaining 9 is finalized this year, that would make 99 percent [finished], it is not an easy target for all of us, I believe," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
The SOE ministry, led by Erick Thohir, has been working on strategic projects for the past four years. Earlier, the SOE Minister Special Staff Arya Sinulingga stated that over 62 projects are related to the acquisition, merger, unblock value, and holdings.
Other types of projects are financial restructurization, organizational improvement, and infrastructure development. Out of the 62 programs, 19 were related to merger, holdings, and integration, 2 were related to the acquisition, and 5 were unblock value projects.
"These spent over Rp68 trillion, and there were also 7 financial restructuring projects," he said on Oct. 26.
The SOE ministry also finalized 17 business development projects, 9 organizational improvement projects, and 3 infrastructure development projects. Arya is optimistic that ongoing projects will be finalized this year.
