TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Erick Thohir announced the completion of the integration of the two national airport operators, Angkasa Pura or AP I and AP II.
Erick said the merger was realized by state-owned tourism holding company PT Aviation Wisata Indonesia or InJourney, which was then renamed PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports.
“Thank God, the long process has come to an end. Our efforts to strengthen airport management have been successful,” he expressed his gratitude in an official statement on Friday, December 29, 2023.
According to him, this integration made Angkasa Pura the fifth-largest airport operator in the world. InJourney Airports and PT Integrasi Aviasi Solusi or InJourney Aviation Services (IAS) as a sub-holding of the InJourney Group is a major breakthrough in the aviation and airport industry sector.
The minister also considered it as an adaptive move of the state enterprises in facing the changing times. “With this transformation, we expect more integrated and efficient airport management.”
Erick Thohir further emphasized that the transformation in the airport management sector is a necessity to optimize the potential of Indonesia's economic, tourism, and logistics sectors. “Most importantly, this integration must improve the quality of service by standardizing the same operating system and policies,” he concluded.
