TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Greater Bandung is expected to bring in 2024 under partly cloudy skies and rain showers. Teguh Rahayu, the head of the Geophysics Station of the Bandung Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), forecasted clouds and light to heavy rain between the afternoon and evening.
“In the evening and early hours, [the weather] is generally cloudy with the potential for light rain,” Teguh said on Wednesday, December 28, 2023.
On Sunday, December 31, 2023, the weather in Greater Bandung, which includes Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi, and West Bandung, is expected to be generally partly sunny to cloudy in the morning until noon. Meanwhile, between noon and evening, it will become cloudy with the potential for rain at light to heavy intensity.
The air temperature ranges from 20.8 to 31.4 degrees Celsius with air humidity levels between 50 and 94 percent. The wind is expected to be between 5 to 18 kilometers per hour, blowing from southeast to southwest.
The weather forecast for Monday, January 1, 2024, is relatively the same, with air temperature between 20.8 and 31.4 degrees Celsius and a humidity level of 50 to 90 percent. The wind will also blow from the southeast to the southwest at a speed of 5 to 18 kilometers per hour.
In tourist areas north of Bandung such as Lembang and tourist areas south of Bandung such as Ciwidey and Pangalengan, the morning weather is predicted to be partly sunny to cloudy. According to Rahayu, the afternoon and evening will be cloudy with the possibility of light to heavy rain.
The air temperature in Lembang is expected to range from 18 to 28 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 60 to 95 percent. Meanwhile, the air temperature in Ciwidey and Pangalengan will range from 19 to 31 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 60 to 92 percent.
