TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Director General of Village Governance at the Ministry of Home Affairs, La Ode Ahmad P Bolombo, stated that the Strengthening Village Governance and Development Program (P3PD) will become a legacy for village administration. Currently, Indonesia has 75,265 villages.
"We hope that what we have achieved will be continued by others, making P3PD a legacy for village administration," he said while opening the Workshop on Supervision and Control of P3PD Regional 2, held via Zoom in Jakarta on Friday, December 8, 2023. The event itself took place at Swiss Bell, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
He explained that P3PD was supposed to be implemented in 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the program could only be launched in mid-2022.
"In the remaining time in 2024, hopefully, the output will be positive, although improvements can be made. Currently, to perfect it, solidify the exit strategy to conclude P3PD by 2024," he said.
He added that P3PD is highly correlated with improving services in villages, fostering creative economies, anticipating natural disasters, and so on.
During the event, he also emphasized the importance of identifying regional programs, supervision at the local level, and using monitoring and evaluation (M&E) for P3PD.
Meanwhile, Simon Makarios Aruan, Head of the General Section of the Directorate General of Village Governance, stated during his report that the purpose of the workshop was to understand the outputs of P3PD stakeholders, formulate supervision and control strategies for P3PD at the regional level, and evaluate key performance indicator achievements.
The participants in this workshop included central participants covering components 1, 2, and 3 of P3PD, the secretariat of CPMU P3PD, and the National Management Consultant (NMC).
As for regional participants, they included elements from the Provincial Community Empowerment Office, Regional Management Consultants, Professional Assistance Personnel (TPP) from the province, and the Village Governance Development Office. (*)
