TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast that most of Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek areas will be hit by moderate to heavy rainfall today, Dec. 7. No area will see sunlight throughout the day.

The agency warned Jakarta of possible rain with thunder and strong winds for a short period in parts of South Jakarta in the afternoon. Overcast weather will greet all areas of the capital city, except the Thousand Islands which will be wet with light rain.

In the afternoon, light rain will soak the entire city, while there is a chance of thunderstorms in the southern areas. In the evening, some areas of the city will be partly sunny, while others will have cloudy skies.

The agency also warned of moderate-heavy rain in Jakarta's neighboring regions. From the afternoon to evening, Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency, and Bekasi City will be hit by downpours with thunder and strong winds.

Greater Tangerang also has a similar weather forecast, especially central and southern Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City.

There is no specific time for the early warning, but BMKG has forecast that light rain will wet Tangerang City this morning, while other areas will be cloudy. Then rain will hit the entire Tangerang area in the afternoon before becoming cloudy in the evening.
