Yogyakarta to Hold Sumonar Fest 2023 This Weekend

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Music and cultural events were scheduled to take place this weekend on December 2-3, 2023. Tempo English collected several events for those who wish to spend the weekend, namely the Sumonar Festival in Yogyakarta, the Rightsfest! 2023 event organized by Amnesty International Indonesia, and the Journey of Noah music concert.

1. Sumonar Fest 2023
Sumonar Fest 2023 is an annual video mapping and interactive light art festival initiated by the Jogja Video Mapping Project (JVMP) and the Cultural Office in Yogyakarta. This year, bringing the main theme of “Being as Such", the festival is held at Museum Affandi from Nov. 25 to Dec. 5, 2023.
Diverging from previously outdoor-focused occasions, Sumonar Fest 2023 invites people to visit Museum Affandi which showcases various art presentations of Indonesian maestros such as Affandi and Sudjojono through enticing video mapping or light installations as well as other interesting projects such as workshops and live performances. The tickets are priced at Rp50,000 for students and Rp75,000 for the general public.
However, people could also enjoy the Sumonar Fest for free by coming to the Zero Point Kilometer Area to enjoy video mapping performances projected at the historic BNI Office Building.
2. Rightsfest! 2023
Initiated by Amnesty International Indonesia, Rightsfest! 2023 is a festival to celebrate human rights and art. Rightsfest! 2023 is scheduled on Dec. 2-3, 2023, at South Great Hall, Pos Bloc, Central Jakarta.
The two-day festival offers various events centered around human rights and how music and arts are utilized to encourage social criticism and dialogue. Those events include live murals, a movie screening, and interactive panel discussions on various topics.
No fees are charged for Rightsfest! 2023, and the RSVP can be sent to s.id/RightsFest23.
3. The Journey of Noah
To commemorate 10 years of its career in the Indonesian music scene, the Indonesian band Noah is holding year-end concerts in several cities, with Jakarta as the closing date.
The Journey of NOAH will be held at Beach City International Stadium on Dec. 3, 2023. The show will start at 08:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time), where fans of Noah will enjoy the performance of the beloved band for three hours. To obtain the tickets, visit tiket.com.
