BMKG Warns Heavy Rain to Drench Greater Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Heavy rain is forecasted to drench Greater Jakarta today, Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency or BMKG released an early warning of the potential of medium to heavy rain. 

In parts of Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Bekasi City, and Depok City, the rain will pour over the regions since morning and persist all day. The rain may be accompanied by strong winds and lightning.

A similar warning was given by BMKG for Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City. 

Specifically, Serpong in South Tangerang and Tigaraksa in Tangerang Regency will potentially have medium rain in the afternoon and a drizzle in the evening.

Meanwhile in Jakarta, BMKG released an early warning for South Jakarta and East Jakarta. According to BMKG, both cities will potentially be drenched by rain with lightning in the afternoon. At noon, a drizzle will greet all of Jakarta while most of the skies will be partly cloudy for the rest of the day.
