TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry will distribute over Rp7.52 trillion of unconditional cash transfer program, known as BLT over the El Nino phenomenon. Each household will receive Rp400,000 of aid from the government.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that maintaining the citizens' purchasing power is critical to the economy. "We will distribute the BLT due to El Nino for 18.8 million beneficiary households (KPM)," Sri Mulyani said during a press conference in Central Jakarta today, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
The beneficiary households, Sri Mulyani added, are based on the database of the Ministry of Social Affairs, including name, address, and account number.
"So we don't have to gather the data all over again," the Finance Minister said.
Every KPM will receive a monthly Rp200,000 aid for two months, November and December this year. In total, each beneficiary household will receive Rp400,000 of BLT.
"Thus, I hope Mrs. Risma (the Minister of Social Affairs) is able to execute this unconditional cash transfer program for 18.8 million beneficiary households with registered name, address, and account number," she concluded.
