President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officially opened the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) International Exhibition at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City, Tangerang, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. He stressed that Indonesian producers must be competitive and control the market.

2. China Development Bank to Finance PLN Fast-tracks Energy Transition
China Development Bank (CBD) will fund the state power company's PLN efforts to accelerate the energy transition in Indonesia. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Beijing on October 16.
PLN president director Darmawan Prasodjo said this MoU serves as a commitment and exploration in terms of corporate funding, project funding, and other funding solutions related to the energy transition, as well as increasing the capacity of PLN employees in developing renewable energy.
3. Economist Says China's Renewable Energy Investment in Indonesia a Positive Momentum
An economist from the Center of Economic and Law Studies (Celios) Bhima Yudhistira stated that the new renewable energy (NRE) investment from China could become a positive momentum for the financing of energy transition in Indonesia.
"This is a great opportunity for Indonesia to bag budget from those who are willing to invest in NRE. We don't have to wait for JETP," he said when called by Tempo on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The grant from Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) has not been distributed yet as of now.
