President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and Chinese leader Xi Jinping exchanged views on the situation in Gaza during the meeting in Beijing on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Both leaders highlighted the importance of de-escalation of the situation caused by Israel in retaliation to Hamas.

Indonesian Hospital in Gaza currently faces a medicine shortage since humanitarian aid is still unable to enter Gaza, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Indonesia reported.
"So far medicine or logistic aids are unable to enter," said MER-C volunteer Fikri Rohul Haq through X, the social media formerly known as Twitter in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Fikri stated that humanitarian aid is unable to enter Gaza since the Rafah crossing was hit by Israeli airstrikes, closing the border.
3. Indonesia Explores Opportunity to Co-Host 2034 World Cup
Minister of Sports and Youth Dito Ariotedjo stated that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo aimed for Indonesia to become a co-host for the 2034 World Cup. "We are following the development at this moment. Mr. President indeed wants Indonesia's position to become at least the co-host," Dito said through an official statement of the ministry in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
