So far, Saudi Arabia is the only country confirmed to join the bidding process for the 2034 World Cup. Dino will join Jokowi to embark on a visit to Saudi Arabia to discuss Indonesia's chance to become the co-host.
"We have affirmed our intention to become the co-host," he stressed.
In addition to exploring the possibilities of co-hosting the World Cup alongside Saudi Arabia, Dito explained that Indonesia is also aiming to host the 2034 World Cup alongside Australia and New Zealand or with Australia and several countries in Southeast Asia.
"We'll update on the situation. The communication process with Australia has commenced, as has with ASEAN. The point is that Indonesia is aiming to become the co-host," Dito said.
The international football federation FIFA has officially started the bidding process for the 2034 World Cup hosts by giving a chance to countries in the Oceania and Asia regions. The bidding started on October 4 and will last throughout the month.
