1. Differences Between Japan`s Shinkansen and Indonesia`s Whoosh

Japan has long been known for its excellent public transportation, such as the Shinkansen. This high-speed train made its first crossing on October 1, 1964, from Tokyo to Osaka.

Indonesia recently launched its first bullet train connecting the capital city of Jakarta to Bandung City on October 2, 2023. As quoted from Indonesia.go.id, the fast train named WHOOSH is also the first in Southeast Asia.

Many compare Japan’s fastest and most convenient transportation with Indonesia’s new China-backed train.

2. MotoGP Racers to Participate in Beach Clean-up, Coral Planting in Mandalika

Before the start of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 on October 13, MotoGP riders are scheduled to participate in Beach Cleaning and Coral Planting at Kuta Beach, Mandalika, on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The event is part of the #waste4change campaigns to showcase the corporate social responsibility of MotGP riders for the environmental sustainability around Lombok.

The Coral Planting event is a cooperation with Mataram University, represented by Marine Professor Hilman Ahayadi. Hilman explained that the planting is intended to develop and strengthen the riders' sense of love and care toward the environment. "Additionally, the action is a small step to repair the coal ecosystem in Mandalika," he said.

3. PSSI Highlights Whoosh Contribution in U-17 World Cup

The head of PSSI Erick Thohir invited a number of FIFA delegates to inspect the preparation of the U-17 World Cup at one of the game venues, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung. The delegates were FIFA Team Project Venue Management Christian Schmölzer and FIFA Venue Manager Sunny Kohli. They embarked this morning on a Whoosh high-speed train from Halim Station in East Jakarta.

Erick mentioned that Whoosh will have an important role in the U-17 World Cup. "FIFA wanted to ensure that Whoosh is able to support mobilities of the teams, goods, and the organizers from Jakarta to Bandung. Jakarta and Bandung accommodate two groups and a number of big teams," Erick stated.
