TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) or the Indonesia China Fast Train company said that it would soon announce a free fast train trial for the general public. Eva Chairunisa, the company's general manager and corporate secretary, said that so far there are 600 people who have been confirmed to take part in the trial round.
She said that for the KCIC trial we will prioritize communities around the rail line or those affected. "We will also allocate seats for people who really want to take part or register independently," she said in Bandung, Wednesday, September 13.
Eva said that the fast train capacity during commercial operation can carry 600 passengers. However, during the trial period there are quota restrictions, although not by much.
"This means, we will still accommodate almost the same [number of passengers] as the normal quota," he said.
During the trial run, she added, the KCIC will not use the entire quota from the train trip chart of 68 trains. In its initial stages, the KCIC will only operate 20 trains and gradually increase it, taking into account the demand.
Eva said that currently KCIC is collecting data and asking for confirmation from residents who are at the fast train crossing to take part in the Jakarta Bandung fast train trial. KCIC has coordinated with all sub-districts for residents along the fast train route, both along Halim and Tegalluar. Later, residents will depart from Halim and Tegalluar as the main stations.
