TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Railways DG from the Ministry of Transportation, Risal Wasal, ensured that the commercial operation date for the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB) is scheduled for October 1, 2023. It was informed after a trial run with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo today, September 13, 2023.
The ministry, Risal mentioned, is aiming to issue the operation permit certification for the high-speed rail soon. "We are aiming [to issue the certificate] in a week," he said.
Jokowi tried KCJB today with several ministries, artists, and comedians today from Halim Station at 09:00 a.m.
His entourage included Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Vice SOEs Minister Rosan Roeslani, and Director of Railways Didiek Hartantyo.
Jokowi arrived at Halim Station at 08:42 a.m. He proceeded to enter Halim Station accompanied by Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and serenaded by regional songs heard inside the station. The president and his entourage set to board the train from Halim Station to Padalarang Station.
