AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualification: Indonesia Wins 9-0 Against Taiwan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian U-23 national team, coached by Shin Tae-Yong, managed to win a big victory of 9-0 over Taiwan in the qualifying round for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup.
Indonesia is in the top position in Group K of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualification standings after the victory at the game held in Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Saturday, September 9. Indonesia is ahead of Turkmenistan who also managed to beat Taiwan with a score of 4-0.
The Indonesian U-23 national team played aggressively from the very first. As a result, in the 2nd minute, Marselino Ferdinan scored a goal with a free kick. In the 6th minute, Ramadhan Sananta scored the second goal for Indonesia. Indonesia led the game 5-0 in the first round.
The intensity of Indonesian footballers slowed down in the second round. The National Team Coach Shin rotated several players but it did not affect the Indonesian team's rhythm. In the 56th minute, the Merah Putih squad finally gained control and Elkan Baggott scored the 6th goal.
In the minute of 85, Indonesia's 9th goal was scored by Pratama Arhan. The squad nearly scored the 10th goal in a penalty kick but they maintained the 9-0 score until the game was over.
Indonesia's U-23 national team will face Turkmenistan in the next AFC U-23 Asia Cup Qualification at Manahan Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The winner will automatically qualify for the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup finals.
