Jokowi Continues Africa Visit to Mozambique

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo continues his visit in Africa to Maputo, Republic of Mozambique on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
"Jokowi and his entourage arrived at Maputo International Airport at around 17:00 CAT or 22:00 WIT," said the Deputy of Protocol, Press, and Media Division of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin in a written statement on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
The president was welcomed upon his arrival by the Mozambique Minister of Natural Resources and Energy Carlos Joaquim Zacarias and State Secretary Manuel Vicente. Two Mozambique children were also seen giving the president a bouquet of flowers.
Jokowi was also welcomed by the Mozambique Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Manuel Jose Goncalves, Mozambique Ambassador for Indonesia Belmiro Jose Malate, and Maputo Governor Iolanda Cintura. After his arrival and subsequent welcome, Jokowi headed to his hotel in Mozambique.
Previously, Jokowi and his entourage departed from Julius Nyerere International Airport in Tanzania at 15:00 EAT.
During his trip to Maputo, Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretariat Pramono Agung.
