TEMPO.CO, Depok - Altafasalya Ardnika Basya (23), the murderer of his junior at the University of Indonesia or UI, apologized to the family of the victim, MNZ (19).
"I, Altafasalya Ardnika Basya, as the senior (at college) of the late Muhamad Naufal Zidan, would like to deeply apologize to the victim's mother, father, family, relatives, friends, the aggrieved parties, and to all the people I've let down," said Altaf, sobbing, at Depok Police on Saturday, August 5.
With his head down, Altaf who wore an orange jail vest promised that he would take responsibility for all the things he had done.
"I will carry out the punishment, and accept the consequences cooperatively. I would also like to apologize to the UI academic community," he went on.
Altaf admitted that he did not have a personal problem with the victim. "The idea showed up when I took him home on Wednesday as I had no choice." He said he was forced to do that since he had to pay his debt.
The first child of four siblings said he asked his parents for too much already and later felt reluctant to ask more.
"I'm desperate, I can't find a clear way to solve my own problem in various ways, until this last one that was detrimental to many people," said Altaf.
