TEMPO.CO, Depok - Universitas Indonesia (UI) confirmed that one of tis student had went missing. Nadil Muhamad Dzakir, a student of the University's Physics student was missing since January 10, 2016. "Yes, [Nadil] has been missing since last week," said Rufelly Dwi Astuti, UI’s public relation officer on Monday, January 18, 2016.
Rufelly said that Nadil went from his house in Bekasi Timur Permai residential complex on January 10, 2016, and have not returned since then. Rufelly added that Nadil's families and relatives had contacted the Bekasi police.
Rufelly said that one of Nadil's friends Reza, claimed to have seen Nadil in Depok. However, the University is yet to confirm the sightings.
Rufelly explained that Nadil was under heavy stress and suffered from depression when he left his house. However, Rufelly claimed that Nadil’s physical health was good. "He wears black jeans trouser, maroon t-shirt, and flip-flops. He doesn't bring any identification. Just a Mandiri ATM card," Rufelly said.
Nadils' parent Yasin said that Nadil left home on Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2016. Yasin felt something was off when he cannot reach Nadil through his mobile phone. Yasin said that his son was a smart and devout person. However, Nadil started to change on November 2015. Yasin said that Nadil started to keep his distance with other members of his family and rarely communicate. "I am concerned that he joined a radical group," Yasin said.
