TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is targeting the construction of the Bogor - Ciawi - Sukabumi Toll Road or the Bocimi Toll Road to reach the Cibadak segment by early August this year. The ministry's spokesperson Endra S Atmawidjaja, the construction of the Bocimi toll road to the Cibadak area is almost complete.
"I think the progress is above 95 percent. In the near future, from the Bocimi to Cibadak Toll Road, we will complete this," Endra said in Sumedang, West Java on Tuesday, July 11.
Endra said there was a slight technical problem and the PUPR Ministry has asked for the construction of SOE Waskita Karya to accelerate. "Hopefully in early August the construction of the Cibadak Segment Bocimi Toll Road will have been physically completed and all that remains is tidiness," he said.
The Ciawi - Sukabumi Toll Road has four sections spanning 54 km. The first section, the 15.35 km Ciawi – Cigombong, has been in operation since December 2018. Work on sections three and four—Cibadak-West Sukabumi (13.70 km) and West Sukabumi-East Sukabumi (13.05 km)—is in the land acquisition process.
Meanwhile, section two which is the Cigombong-Cibadak Toll Road will be connected to Bogor via Jagorawi Toll. It will reduce travel time from Jakarta to Sukabumi by two hours. The presence of this toll road is expected to facilitate the community's economic connectivity further.
