TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Toll Road Authority (BPJT) on Tuesday announced that new rates will be gradually implemented across 30 toll roads. BPJT Head Danang Parikesit said the increase in toll tariffs will be gradual and evaluated constantly.
“There are quite a lot this year with more than 30 toll sections that will see tariff adjustments,” said Danang in a press conference on June 6.
He explained that adjustments are needed amidst inflation rates and are done every two years based on the toll’s worthiness and the minimum profitability aspect mutually agreed upon with toll road companies.
Tolls located on Java Island will be subjected to this adjustment along with Sumatra, Bali, and Sulawesi.
BPJT said there are 42.98 kilometers of toll sections officially entering service in 2022 and said the government is eyeing introducing 332 kilometers of 16 toll sections by the end of this year.
