TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo stated that he is participating in the G20 Agriculture Ministers' meeting in India so he could not meet the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) summons today, June 16.
“We attend the G20 Agriculture Ministers' meeting in India,” Syahrul said in a written statement, Friday.
He explained that he had to present at the event because Indonesia had been trusted as the G20 Presidency in 2022. “Of course, we should be present at the closing of this international event,” he added.
The Nasdem politician said after India, he would hold an official visit to China and South Korea for cooperation in agricultural modernization and export markets.
He emphasized that he respects and will cooperate in the legal process. Thus, he asked the KPK to reschedule the examination on June 27, 2023. “We cannot fulfill the KPK's invitation today not because of personal matters.”
