TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After winning the SEA Games 2023 gold medal at the football match, the national U-22 team will be paraded on Friday, May 19. Tonight, they are flying home through Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
Through its official account, Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) announced will hold a parade on Friday, May 19, to celebrate the victory of the young Garuda team.
Jakarta Traffic Police director, Sr. Commissioner Latif Usman, said that his institution set up a traffic engineering at Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin.
“There will definitely be a traffic engineering at Sudirman-Thamrin lanes, as tomorrow is a working day. But hopefully, there will be fewer car users as tomorrow is a day between two holidays,” he said Thursday, May 18.
Besides Sudirman and Thamrin roads, the police will also deploy members to monitor traffic in several areas such as from Kuningan until SCBD, and from Slipi, Palmerah, to Fatmawati.
Latif asserted that the security will be done based on the condition on the field, considering the routes that will be passed by the Garuda Nusantara squad. “Still waiting for the fixed routes, as the first will be from the Palace, and the second is from GBK. We'll make sure of it,” he said.
The police could yet to detail the number of the personnel that would be deployed for the parade of the U-22 National Team coming home bringing the SEA Games 2023 gold medal. Nevertheless, the traffic police director calls on the people to avoid passing Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Thamrin to avoid traffic jams.
