TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi today left for Jambi from Jakarta to take part in the agenda of the Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry in the province. The visit was initially scheduled for May 3, 2023, but had to be postponed.
“[The president participates in] PU (PUPR Ministry) activities,” said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono to Tempo, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.
The state head and the entourage left Jakarta at 07:00 local time and were estimated to land at Jambi Sultan Thaha Airport at around 08:20 local time.
In Jambi, he will meet with traders at Talangbanjar Market, Jambi City, and inspect the road in Geragai District, Lagan Tengah Village, East Tanjungjabung Regency.
The Jambi Regional Police deployed 600 personnel to secure the agenda. Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi said his side was ready to mobilize and prepare personnel to carry out security during President Jokowi’s working visit
Rusdi claimed that the personnel of Jambi Regional Police had participated in the joint Indonesian Military (TNI) - the National Police ceremony for the preparation of the VVIP security measures on Monday.
