ASDP Ferry Indonesia Records 90,582 People Crossing Two Days before Eid Al-Fitr

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry recorded that 46 ships have been operating at Merak Port for 12 hours on April 20, 2023, from 08:00 AM to 08:00 PM. The number of passengers served by the ships reached 90,582 people.
"The number of passengers increased by 10 percent compared to the same period last year, which was 82,270 people," said Corporate Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Shelvy Arifin in a written statement on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Meanwhile, the number of motorcycles using the ferry service is recorded at 8,122 units, 37% higher compared to the same period last year. The number of cars using the ferry service is recorded at 10,443 units, 5% lower compared to the same period last year. In addition, the number of logistical vehicles using the ferry service is recorded at 607 units, 52% higher compared to the same period last year.
"The total number of vehicles crossing from Java to Sumatera two days before Eid Al-Fitr is recorded at 19,693 units, 12% higher compared to the same period last year, which was recorded at 17,620 units," Shelvy said.
The total number of passengers crossing from Java to Sumatera from 10 days before Eid Al-Fitr to two days before Eid Al-Fitr is recorded at 725,771 people, which is 5% lower compared to the same period last year of 760,911 people. Meanwhile, the total number of vehicles that have crossed is recorded at 168,447 units, which is 7% lower compared to the same period of 180,465 units.
