TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The inspector general of the Finance Ministry Awan Nurmawan Nuh on Wednesday announced the summons of 69 of the ministry’s employees to verify their asset ownership that the country’s asset-tracking system had deemed peculiar.
“There are 33 employees with unclear assets reported and in the 2020 assert report (LHK) for the 2021 registration, there are 36 employees who are still deemed unclear. In total, there are 69 employees,” said Awan in a press conference on March 1.
The anomaly of their assets was tipped off from the analytical data used by the Ministry.
The examination will later focus on their position profile, sources of wealth acquisition, unreported assets, and information on financial transactions.
Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara said the suspicious finding in the asset report of the 69 employees was obtained from the results of synchronizing the system at the Ministry of Finance with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"We at the Ministry of Finance have a system called Alpha for employee LHK reporting, the system is connected to the LHKPN (state official wealth report) data system at the KPK," said Suahasil.
Suahasil said, if irregularities were found, the Finance Minsitry would carry out formal and material examinations to ensure that employees are not indicated to have committed corruption and abuse of office.
