TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - When family, friends, or even yourself are diagnosed with diabetes, things can be complicated, such as how you should pay attention to habits, diet, and the type of food that is safe to consume.

Sometimes creating a new diet can be tricky. One of them is consuming vegetables. According to the info from Allrecipes, here are some types of vegetables that are good for consumption by people with diabetes:

1. Broccoli

Broccoli is a vegetable that contains various good nutrients; it is low in calories and high in vitamin C, vitamin B, and fiber. Adding this fiber-rich vegetable to your regular diet is a great way to stabilize blood sugar levels and consume fewer calories while still feeling full.

2. Cauliflower

Cauliflower is low in calories and high in nutrients such as vitamin C, folate, and fiber. This fiber keeps the digestive system moving and can help improve blood sugar levels.

3. Asparagus

One of the vegetables that could help in regulating diabetics is asparagus as it contains fiber and good carbohydrates.

4. Kale

Consuming kale or leaf cabbage could keep your stomach full for a long time. Kale also does not increase blood sugar, so it is adequate to be consumed by people with diabetes.

5. Bitter Melon

While it is not much enjoyed due to its bitter taste, bitter melon has many benefits for the body. It contains vitamins A, C, beta-carotene, iron, and calcium. This vegetable is also suitable for people with diabetes as it has an insulin-like compound.
