TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several tourist attractions in Jakarta are filled with visitors during Christmas, Sunday, December 25, 2022.
Among the locations are the Kota Tua area and the Jakarta National Monument (Monas).
In Kota Tua, Jakarta, one of the tourist attractions that lure many tourist visitors is the Fatahillah Museum. To enter the museum, which has an official name, Jakarta History Museum, visitors are charged Rp5,000 per person for adults and Rp2,000 for children.
Apart from enjoying the museums in Kota Tua, many visitors can also be engaged in travelling around the area by riding sepeda onthel (roadster bicycle) or sitting around Fatahillah Square.
At this moment of Christmas and New Year 2023, the Jakarta Provincial Government is establishing the Jakarta Lights Festival which will be held from 22 December 2022 to 5 January 2023. One of the locations of the festival is in Fatahillah Square, Kota Tua.
Apart from Kota Tua, Jakarta, Monas is another tourist destination flooded with visitors during Christmas.
Based on the observation by Tempo, most visitors consist of groups of families that tend to bring their children for a stroll.
Most visitors came to take pictures with the Monas monument in the background, and some were seen having a picnic around the park in the national monument area.
The mass of visitors was not only seen around the Monas monument but also around the area of souvenirs near the exit.
Visitors thronged the souvenir stalls, selling various items from clothing to typical Monas trinkets.
