Jordi Amat Eager to Appear in 2022 AFF Cup, to Make Debut With Indonesian National Team

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jordi Amat admits that he can't wait to appear in the 2022 AFF Cup to play for the Indonesian national team. After being naturalized, Jordi will make his debut with the Garuda squad.
Born in Barcelona, Spain, the 30-year-old player who now plays for the Malaysian club, Johor Darul Ta'zim, officially became an Indonesian citizen (WNI) on November 17.
In the 2022 AFF Cup, apart from Jordi, two other naturalized players, namely Ilija Spasojevic and Marc Klok, will strengthen the national team under the guidance of Shin Tae-Yong.
"I'm looking forward to my first match. I can't wait," said Jordi after training for the 2022 AFF Cup preparation at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (SUGBK), Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
"Training is very good and we are very well prepared. All the players couldn't wait to show their performance in front of the crowd."
Jordi Amat revealed that he will wear the jersey with the number 4 on the back. "So I am very, very happy. I hope to win the match," said the former centre-back of the Spanish club, Rayo Vallecano, and the English club, Swansea.
In the first match of the 2022 AFF Cup Group A qualification, Indonesia is going to compete with Cambodia at SUGBK, Friday, December 23 2022. Playing as the host, Jordi has a message for Indonesian supporters.
"I can't wait to see the 30,000 fans in the stadium. I hope it will be a good match for Indonesia," he said.
The certainty of the 2022 AFF Cup match by the Indonesia team can be attended by spectators was expressed directly by the National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo. However, he emphasised that the number of spectators is limited, only 70 percent of SUGBK's capacity which reached 78,000 spectators.
PSSI has released price tickets to watch the 2022 AFF Cup match at SUGBK. The price starts from Rp150,000 to Rp 1 million. Regarding the number of tickets, PSSI only sold around 25,000 for the first match against Cambodia, and 40,000 for the match against Thailand on Thursday, December 29.
"The National Police will provide tolerance and match permits for the game between Indonesia against Cambodia with a total audience of 30,000, then Thailand 50,000. However, PSSI will anticipate the overflow of supporters and in the context of caution, for the match against Cambodia, PSSI will only sell less than 25,000 tickets and for the game against Thailand around 40,000 tickets. This is to safeguard against unwanted things," PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi said in a PSSI release.
