TNI Air Force Detains Member Who Hit Senior Citizen in Bogor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Military Police Unit of Atang Sendjaja Air Force Base of Bogor has arrested a TNI Air Force personnel, First Private SH, for allegedly hitting an elderly man in Tangerang. The Military Police made the arrest following the elderly man's report to the Military Police Unit of Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta.
"During the incident, the TNI member did not come to work without permission from his superiors. Following the arrest, Private SH will undergo questioning and examination," Atang Sendjaja Air Force Base spokesman Lt. Col. Sus. M.I Adam said on Wednesday, December 14.
First Private SH was arrested in Bogor and is now detained in Halim Perdanakusuma Jakarta.
Adam said that if there are proofs of criminal acts, Private SH will be given strict sanctions "and prosecuted according to the regulations in force."
News of the incident went viral on social media after Twitter @nestanes posted a video showing an elderly man with a wound on his face.
The video said that the man was hit by a member of the TNI. As of the writing of this report, the motive behind the assault was unknown.
